Michael Petherick has skilfully adapted and transformed this extraordinary pattern, infusing it with a palette of warm undertones that conjure a tropical ambiance. The creation of this design utilises techniques that enhance the pattern while offering a soft yet inviting backdrop.
Crafted from the finest 22 Momme 6A silk twill, this material is the pinnacle of luxury, with only 5% of silk worldwide achieving this grade. To qualify as grade 6A, the fibres must be long, exhibiting nearly uniform thickness with only the faintest variations, robust, demonstrating exceptional tensile strength, and visually pristine. Silk of this caliber is renowned for its unparalleled smoothness, durability, and lavishness. This silk is a remarkable fabric derived from natural fibres, boasting a delicate lustre and an incredibly soft texture, making it the only truly exquisite and refined choice. Materials + Care
Hand Wash or Dry Clean
Hand washing or dry cleaning your silk garments are preferable methods. Silk is a naturally delicate fabric and should be worn and washed with extra love and care. We recommend filling your sink or tub with lukewarm water and a small amount of delicate silk wash detergent. Use your hands to gently clean the garment(s) and make sure you rinse thoroughly. Avoid twisting or wringing the fabric and be sure not to use hot water as this treatment can harm the delicate fibres causing pulls or stretches.
Machine Wash
While we only recommend hand washing or dry cleaning, if you trust your machine's "delicate" or "hand wash" setting this is an option if you don't have time to hand wash. Water should be cool to lukewarm as anything hotter can make the fabric harden, become brittle and can tear more easily.
Air Dry Your Silks
Silk should be hung to air dry. Be sure you use soft hangers or padded hangers. Keep your silks away from direct heat and sunlight. Once dry, silk should be carefully ironed using low heat or preferably steamed to restore the sheen and softness to the fabric.
